Re: Sexual disfunctionFrom: CMR (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 25 Jun 1999 15:22:36 -0500 (CDT)
Laura- Is this the only adverse symptom you have? In other words, have you noticed anything else that "just isn't right" since the surgery. I have two words as my guess: surgical menopause. You say it was a Total Hyst, they took everything, uterus, ovaries..... Have you had any hormonal blood tests done on you since your surgery? Were there any run before your surgery? This is not all in your head. Loss of libido is most generally a hormonal problem, in cases such as yours, and mine. I am 33 and almost 6 years post-tubal ligation and have been told I am peri-menopausal. I would ask, more like DEMAND, the dr that you are seeing to run a hormonal work-up. These tests may very well yield results that may aid in helping you come around. You may not have much luck with the dr agreeing to do the tests, if this one doesn't do it, keep looking for someone who will. I would suggest your family dr. ANY dr can order these tests. Good Luck! Cheryl :o)
