Uterine artery embilization is a relatively new minimally invasive procedure that is a "procedure" done in an xray department. The only drug therapy that will shrink fibroids is a GnRH agonist such as Lupron-Depo, and that is only temporary. If nothing is done you may incur acute degeneration in such a large fibroid necessitating emergency surgery.
