Lisa, I would really find out why this procedure is needed before you consent to it. This is your body and if you are not comfortable with what is "being done to it", by all means STOP and get answers first. I'm not at all saying a D&C is a bad thing, don't get me wrong. But it is a procedure that carrys potential risk so be sure you know why it must be done (if there is a valid reason why your body can't do it's job and expel the contents of your uterus) and what those risks are, all of them.

If you decide to go ahead with the D&C, please be sure your doc and anesthesiologist are aware of the effects last time. Maybe they can give you something else to try and avoid it this time.

If this is how you feel, you really owe it to yourself to get the answers before you consent to something you are not comfortable with. This is a very difficult time for you. Know that we are here to listen and help in any way.
