Hello, All I could find on GBS-Group B Strep is that it may be indicative of other illnesses such as diabetes or liver disease. A person can carry GBS in the bowel, bladder, or throat. People who carry GBS typically do so temporarily that is they do not become lifetime carriers of the bacteria. It is normally treated with antibiotics, and if you are pregnant it can cause complications. They can however, inject antibiotics into a vein prior to delivery to try and combat GBS in an infant. This is all I could find I hope that this has helped. Dominique
