It is your body, if you feel uncomfortable with the presence of the cyst then tell your doctor. But if you do go into surgery consider a complete hysterectomy because if you are prone to have this then it can occur again. It's like playing a game of twister, "what's going to happen this year?" Menopause is a very peculiar state, I have never been so aware of my body parts. I will be 53 in June, had a benign mass and one ovary removed 2 yr. ago, tilted uterus, the whole gambit. Now I have to take estro/testostrone to compensate, and just yesterday learned I have to go in for a d&c because my period flow is screwed up. The point of all this rambling is if you are not going to use it (reproductive parts) then if surgery is your choice, why go thru the whole process several times. And the whole process can make women in this age group very paranoid and vulnerable. It's your body, your decision. The only wrong choice is usually none. I am just someone looking for answers just like you. When I feel like a whiner I just remember that this is the first real generation of women experiencing the avenues of help available, so everybody is new to this game. And it will take this generation to get it right for the next one.
