Desmoid tumor

I was diagnosed with endometriosis last June. I have had three surgeries in 18 months. Last surgery was May 25--about two weeks ago. Dr. removed a "desmoid tumor"--a large one embedded in my abdominal wall. Benign, but a large portion of my abdominal wall had to come out with it.

Are these types of tumors related to endometriosis? If not, what causes them to form? According to the doctor, they have about a 30% rate of reoccurence--he advises close monitoring for the next several months. Any other opinions out there?

Thank you
