NEED CHRONIC VULVAR PAIN SPECIALIST ASAPFrom: Abbye (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun, 30 May 1999 13:04:29 -0500 (CDT)
I need to find a doctor...preferably in Pennsylvania...who specializes in chronic vuvlar pain (severe burning)...I've had this burning for 6 months postpartum and it is spreading rapidly from the vulva to my inner thighs, buttocks. I can not walk well at all and only for short distances because my legs have become very weak and shake. I cannot sit or lay in any position without more severe burning pain. I'm afraid it's a nerve problem (I had a rapid, hard delivery with level 4 tears. This pain is absolutely debilitating and I am a WRECK and depressed beyond words. I cannot take care of my family anymore and cry continuously. Sometimes 4 aspirin will help for awhile. For 4 months this pain was only in the vulva somewhere...now it is spreading quickly. I have no UTI's, and have seen a vulvar dermatologist and was treated for atrophic vaginitis and an atypical yeast infection...but those are supposedly clear now. Normal pelvic CAT scan. Doesn't feel like a cystitis...I don't have to urinate often nor have the horrid stinging...however, I can have stinging afterwards and sometimes it is slightly uncomfortable to go. I now also have a strange burning redness on my face...which comes and goes...perhaps rosacea. COULD IT BE POSSIBLE I still have a yeast problem? I don't have a heavy discharge or itching...but the vulva seems irritated. Should I ask a doctor to prescribe an oral antifungal just to try something? ANY references to a good doctor would be appreciated. I feel like I am dying a slow death and pray to just have some of my life back...thank you for any help. Bless you.
