Occasional severe pain during and following intercourse..possible infertilityFrom: Tammi (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat, 29 May 1999 21:52:09 -0500 (CDT)
For approx 7 yrs now i have had episodes of very severe stabbing pain during intercourse, so severe we have to stop and i am unable to move for a while and become very nauseated. The pain eventually decreases over a few days, but until then I have constant pain and painful bowel movements and urination. It is not a burning pain, it is a deep stabbing pain that starts with deep penetration (not rough sex, even with my ex husband who was much smaller that my current partner). Have regular gyno exams and pap smears and have told my md about these episodes with no dx. Pain so severe twice i went to er with no help there, either. Have had one premature birth at 20 1/2 weeks son lived only 3 hours. No dx for cause of that...many tests on myself and autopsy on son revealed nothing..No other pregnancies...md says i have a very slightly deviated uterus that should not prevent carrying a child...small polyp that has given me no problems (according to doc)..also low(?) lying cervix...doc always has to reinsert speculum to get to cervix...never had std's (that i know of)..have had 3 or 4 yeast infections treated over the counter no problem...pap smears always good...I have not used birth control for approx 2 years now with no resulting pregnancies...these episodes happen 3 or 4 times a year...Please help...sorry this is so long but trying to give you all the info i can think of....
