ReferralsFrom: Kimberly (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 28 May 1999 19:08:38 -0500 (CDT)
This is my first time at the forum. I live in Dallas, Texas and in desperate need of an expert who treats endometreosis. I don't want to do the lupron treatments and feel that surgery is an option considering my history of adhesions from previous surgeries (I've had 4 surgeries within the last 16 years - I was 14 when they found the endo and now I'm 30 and about to have my 5th laperoscopy in July). I was told by a second opinion that I am going to have to live with the pain and consider going to a pain management clinic - BULL!!! I refuse to accept that answer that anyone should HAVE to live with pain. I explained that I've been bloated the last 2 months with constant left side pain - she told me that I might have irritable bowel syndrome - WHATEVER! So you can see why I'm in need of another referral. I want to treat the pain, if possible without surgery, but I know my body and it feels like I have something attached to my left ovary again. (My last surgery 4 years ago showed my bowel attached to my left ovary - is it possible that this could happen again?) I had two sonograms done within the last month and the first one done vaginally by my doctor showed no left ovary - we could not find it so she referred me to the diagnostic center to have a pelvic one done and it showed no masses on my left ovary - they said it looked fine. Please help me if you can - I really want to get treated and not be made to feel like the pain is in my head! THANK YOU!!
