However, I CAN speak about having an abdominal hysterectomy, which I had last Sept, age 35, for fibroids. I kept my cervix and my ovaries. I have no regrets. There has been no effect on my hormonal status (I still PMS just fine, thanks! :-) and no change in my libido or sexual response--can't tell the difference, frankly. The surgery significantly improved MY life. Of course, no surgery is risk free, different women have different needs, and you are doing well to consider all your options.
