Breast changes/Lump?From: Kay (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 25 May 1999 13:00:35 -0500 (CDT)
I have been looking for previous posts on this and couldn't find anything that answered my question. I have lost 50 pounds in the past 6 months. On purpose, under the supervision of a nutritionist. A few of the changes in my body have me conserned. This morning, for instance, I noticed an elongated lump in my left breast. I can't find one to match it in the right breast. I have lost about 2 cup sizes and almost all my cleavage, so I am not used to the shape and size of my breasts at all. My mother had perimenopausal breast cancer, so I have had mamograms semi annually since I was 34. I am now 38. They have always been fine, and I have always been told that I have dense breasts. I had a hysterectomy when I was 36. But kept my ovaries. My OBGYN commented that my cycles might be slowing almost a year ago. Could I be entering the perimenopausal stage? Should I see my Dr about this lump? Any information would be appreciated.
