bells palsy question (sorry, long!)From: Anne (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 21 May 1999 19:39:06 -0500 (CDT)
Last Sunday, I mowed a weedy patch of grass. The next day, I noticed I had trouble with the left side of my lip. It didn't seem to have the same strength as the other side. My smile seemed a little crooked. My right eye was seeing double when I moved it suddenly, kinda as if it was slowly catching up to the movement of the left eye. I went to emergency three days later, concerned about my eye. I was told I have bells palsy, a mild form of it. I had a cold the week before and the doctor felt that was the cause of it. My question is: would this affect the sight in my right eye? The side affected by the bells palsy is the left side....but it's the right eye which seems to be doubling but only when I move my eye suddenly or my head really fast. It's hard to explain but it is almost like my right eye is playing 'catch up' with the left or is it actually the right eye which is fine and the left is the one acting weird? Will my right eye get better? Thanks....Anne
