Previous message: chey: "Re: repeat pap question" For the past few years (I'm now 41) I've been having discharge/spotting between periods, getting progressively worse. Started with brownish spotting for a few days post-period, now I'm at the point of some bloody show a few days before period, intensely heavy periods, bleeding for nearly 2 full weeks(!), then a yellowish discharge till bloody show starts. In other words, no real time in the cycle of clear mucous at all. I get yearly exams, was on BC pills for a couple of years, which cleared it up. Off pill now, waiting to see ob/gyn in 2 weeks. Is this just 'normal' periomenopausal cycle changing?! Are BC pills the answer, even at my age??? Feeling very frustrated and discouraged at the thought of this continuing or getting worse for *years* to come. No periods looking better and better as a future outlook :). -- Ann H.
