IF Diagnosis...How can this be? LONGFrom: anonymous@obgyn.netSun, 2 May 1999 22:30:10 EDT
I was recently diagnosed with IF. I am wondering how this can be. I can go from 3 months to 9 months without a period. So my GYN said I had Amenorrhoea and Anovulatory. She did ONLY 2 blood tests, Prolactin and Thyroid (I think) and came up with the idea of IF. Both tests came back in the "Normal" range. How can she determine this by only these 2 tests?? I have charted my BBT and CM for months and months and I finally got tired of seeing my BBT look like a ride on a rollercoaster so I stopped. I started back up again about a month prior to going back to the GYN and she ended up giving me a scrip for Provera and Clomid. I got my period just like I thought I would....with a vengeance, after all I hadn't had one since September of last year, and that was with the help of Provera. My last period on my own was April of last year. The Clomid made me an emotional basket case, but I've survived and so did my DH. We are currently awaiting my period to do another round of Clomid, I'm at day 32 and according to my temps for this month, I just ovulated on Wednesday. Don't know if that is a true sign or not, but maybe just maybe. Can any one here tell me what they think??? I am looking for another GYN to visit and see what they have to say. Thanks for your listening. Julie D
