Atrophy of the ovary

I had my TAH/BSO on Friday, April 23rd. I am one of the "Lucky" ones to have this surgery, not only was I able to walk the day of the surgery, I have never felt better. (Only sore occassionally.) I, however, have a few questions that are bothering me. After the surgery my Dr. told me that my right ovary and tubes were totally brown and almost totally atrophied, my uterus was very small, and my left ovary had cysts on it. He also mentioned that there was no incication of endometriosis ( I had a laporoscopy in 1994 and had endo cartherized). Prior to the surgery a vaginal ultrasound revealed the cysts on the ovary and a nabathian cyst on my cervix. I have been off Depro-provera for approximately 2 years (I had been on it since the lap)and have not had a cycle sense being off the depro.

I know without seeing the charts an exact answer may not be available. I would like to know could the depro-provera have caused so much damaged to my insides. And what could possible cause my ovary to "die" in such a manner, when a hormonal blood test was given and all the hormone levels were fine.

Thank you for all the help this forum has given me in making my decission on the surgery. I am feeling better then I have in years. It is like a toxin has been taken out and I could go on with my life. Peggy
