Hysterectomy

I am 48 years old.Last May I began experiencing hot flashes and was put on Prempro. The 3rd week I started abd.pain, leg and back aches.Of course I stopped taking Prempro. After several vaginal ultrasounds my OBGYN found 2 small fibroid tumors and said since they were so small they shouldn't bother me.He sent me to a Gastro.specialist.I had an upper GI,small bowel, colonscopy, gall bladder sonogram and another gall bladder dye test. All negative. Then my OBGYN said maybe a Hyst, would help but he couldn't promise. Then I went for a second opinion and the 2nd Dr.found also 2 small fibroid tumors and said maybe Hyst.would help.Is this enough reason to have major surgery?Isn't there another diagnostic tool for this?Am I asking too much?Would you cut your leg off if it hurts without knowing the reason? My 1st Dr. has seemed to lost patience with me.I might add I asked both Drs.for a Lap.and both said in round about words,Why?Am I too old for this,is why they don't want to find out the real problem.I might add 21 years ago I had a C-section and a tubal ligation at the same time.Never really had any pain or heavy bleeding.Still have irregular periods. Is pain part of menopause?Should I try another hormone?Sorry to ask so many questions.I realize Adenoymosis can only be diagnosed after a Hyst. Will it go away after menopause or if I don't have Hyst,I'll never be able to take estrogen? Thanks for a reply.Susan
