This often passes after being on the pill for three cycles and is often a matter of perserverance. If you get midcycle bleeding it may be that you are not on a strong enough pill and need to increase the estrogen dose (in this example it is needed for it to have a contraceptive effect). Other cause include drug interactions and unrelated causes such as from the cervix.
