Re: Side effects from tubal ligation :(From: Cheryl (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 28 Apr 1999 12:31:15 -0500 (CDT)
Buffy- HI!! Let me tell you about my experience post-tubal. I had mine almost six years ago, 24 hours after the birth of my son. I have experienced MANY complications that did not appear until AFTER I had my tubes tied. I had the pomeroy method. A portion of each tube was removed and the remaining ends were tied?? No cauterization, from what the op report says. I was told, by the dr that did the tubal that I am in a state of peri-menopause. At the age of 32???????? I have the majority of the symptoms of menopause. The ONLY reason that this could be happening now is because of the tubal I had. If you would like to join the mailing list I belong to that is made up of post-tubal women just like yourself and me that are experiencing complications, please go to http://www.onelist.com and sign up for the post-tubal mailing list. There are probably upwards of 80 women or so on the list by now. I haven't seen the latest total of women that are on it. Through the mailing list, we all share our stories and ask questions, which everyone chips in and answers as best we can. We also have a message board where you can go to post and get answers. Talking to others like you is the best thing to do. We understand where you are coming from and don 't judge you or say that it is all in your head, which is what we are told. If you would like to join us, feel free. That goes for anyone else that reads this post and wants to join us. You are welcome to join us. We will be happy to listen and help however we can. Cheryl :o)
