premphaseFrom: Mary (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 28 Apr 1999 07:32:33 -0500 (CDT)
I was on Loestrin 1.5 for a couple of years up until October of 98. I was having bad pelvic pain and my gynecologist took me off Loestrin right away. I had a small period in Nov. of 98 but hadn't had one since. I had my annual exam in Feb. of 99 and my gyn took an fsh test. My test came back with an fsh level of 110 which placed me within menopause and unable to conceive. I was given premphase 28 day pills. Now, April, I had a period which lasted about 4 days (medium flow) after taking 3 maroon tablets. Once in a while I still have some pelvic pain but it doesn't last for long. Is this indicative that maybe the pill isn't the right one for me? I was given a 3 month supply and was asked to tell them how I liked it. Now, the symptoms of joint pain, hot flashes etc. have been lessened upon the use of the premphase. What about the pelvic pains sometimes that I'm feeling? Before starting the premphase regimen, my gyn asked me if the pelvic pain was better since stopping of the loestrin and I responded a yes but still have episodes of some twangs of pain. He said that was a good sign. What is the cause of the Pain? Estrogen? Thank you for any response in helping a 45 year old woman understand what is going on chemically within herself.!
