too acidy?

I was wondering about acid in women's discharge or vaginal secretions or whatever. I have heard that it is there, I was just wondering what it is there for? And can there be too much, and what can happen if there is too much? My boyfriend wonders if there might be too much in mine because after we have sex the skin around his penis gets all dry and cracks, sometimes even bleeding. Or could this be the result of lubrications? We sometimes use those, but usually ones that are suppose to be good. I also read on here that men can get yeast infections from women, and I get those a lot, could this be a symptom for him that he might have one from me? Sorry about all the questions.
