I seem to have a problem, and I am not getting answers that I am unsatisfied with my Drs. For the past few months, I have been experencing vaginal burning. When it first started it was itching, but now when it starts it is an urge to urinate, and then a constant burn. I have been given a creme called Metrogel(twice)to use twice a day and some strong pills called Flagyl, to take three times a day for 10 days. This is the second time I have done this treatment, and my last days for this dose was 4 days ago. I am on the pill for birth control. I have also change my pills, thinking that my offset this. My husband and I had not had intercourse during my medication duration.(We ARE faithful in our relationship.) We have had it twice in the last 4 days, and now my problem is back again. No oral sex, no toys or kinky sex. He has been doctored for this problem too with the same strong pills plus amoxicilin. He has never experenced any problems at all, but took this medicine so I would not contract this problem again. When I called the Dr. and told her I have this problem again, I was told that I have Vaginitis and this is something I will have to deal with for the rest of my life. She also told me that the pills I was prescribed would take care of, if any, bladder infection too. A woman would want to be doctored for bladder infection too, because of the two being so close together, right? What exactly is Vaginitis? How did I get this problem? How do I get rid of it? Believe me, I am getting a second opinion, but I would like to get as much information as I can.
