Believe me, I know. I had a lot of other stuff to ask him about the last time I saw him face to face, and since then I've written him a letter, which he hasn't answered. He's also not my own doctor but a backup, so I don't know him well, except by reputation (said reputation being generally excellent, by the way), and he's very taciturn -- it's pulling hens' teeth to get him to talk at all. I think he is actually quite a kind person, but he's just impossible to talk to, and frankly I don't care to repeat the experience. He was NOT mean or rude or anything, he just hadn't a clue. I actually have tremendous respect for him in some ways, but it's a darned good thing he's not a shrink. And I certainly wouldn't recommend him to any nervous-Nelly primipara.
