A checkup is a great idea. While you're waiting for your appointment, be sure that your bras are fitting well. Many of us get pain on the side of the breast, right where the end of the underwire hits. Coincidence? I think not. Also, trying wearing a well-fitted bra night and day for a little while. Sometimes the weight of the breast can also cause breast pain. Take a little of the pressure off by letting your shoulders help carry the load of your breasts. But do get a checkup.
