Aygestin is Norethindrone acetate. It is a progestational agent that is found in many oral contraceptives. It works very mmuch like Provera. If the bleeding is because of changes in the estrogen level, then a progestational agent will cause the bleeding to stop while it is being taken. once the progestational agent is withdrawn bleeding will occur. This is called withdrawal bleeding. Knowing the pathologists report on the D&C sample would help one decide as to the proper therapy.
