Bleeding Between PeriodsFrom: Lori (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat, 17 Apr 1999 21:16:18 -0500 (CDT)
Hi all, I had a baby this past June and all was going great for me as I began birth control pills - triphasil-28. I have been taking it for 8 months now with no breakthrough bleeding. All of a sudden this month, 11 days before I'm supossed to menstruate, I started bleeding - medium flow and not just spotting. I called my doctor and told them I am concerned because my periods have always been normal and this isn't like me. They suggessted that I wait and see if it happens next month. I told them that I was feeling cramps but still they didn't think I needed to worry much about it yet. I have been bleeding since April 14th and it is starting to disturb me. It isn't slowing down but remaining the same. It seems when I am lying down, I have little to no flow but when I get up (especially in the morning), it flows a bright red. I'll have to admit that I'm a bit worried. I definetly feel something isn't quite right but I hope nothing serious. Any suggestions or information you can give would be much appreciated. The doctor also said that it could be hormones. Is this true? Could sexual activities possibly cause this as well? Thanks!
