The Keeper is made of latex -- natural rubber is latex. The disposable Instead cups are non-latex, if I remember correctly, but gee, what's the point? I think the big difference in supposed safety is just politics -- a disposable product can get on grocery store shelves and a non-disposable one can't.

I can't find the doctor's post on this in the archives. Was it a private email?

I used the Keeper before getting pregnant and have not gotten around to ordering the other size. It is quite nice if your periods are irregular as you can keep it in a little bag in your purse and it doesn't fall apart the way tampons do. But then I don't have a problem with latex allergy.

I have left tampons in for 12 hours an enormous number of times, and suspect most women have. Diaphragms are also supposed to be safe for 12 hours. How can the Keeper be much different?
