Misplaced Vagina related to Bladder Pressure and Urine Frequency??From: Lou (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat, 10 Apr 1999 23:06:14 -0500 (CDT)
I have had 4 recurrent UTIs during the past three months, 2 yeast infections, and a month and a half's time suffering from trich. (I've taken cipro, flagyl, diflucan, SMZ/TMP 'DS800-160, ampicilin and lastly, macrobid). Now it's been four months since my first symptoms of trich and UTI occurred, and I still have problems with my bladder. I have frequent urges to visit the bathroom. Sometimes it's real serious, like I have to visit the bathroom once every 15 minutes. Other days I go every hour and a half. In between, I feel just normal. These few days I started feeling pressure on my bladder, and today there is even a constant, dull kind of pain. One day, my gynecologist observed that my vagina is placed very closely to the bladder (I heard him say, "misplaced"...). Is this abnormal? Is this related to the bladder pressure and urinary frequency I'm experiencing on and off? Does all of this have anything to do with my prolonged antibiotics treatment? (Two of my previous gynecologists had "overdosed" me on the antibiotics--14 days of flagyl 500 mg, three times a day; 10 days of ampicilin, etc.) Is there any need for concern that my conditions might be cystocle? Thanks.
-- Lou
