In light of the above (the only response I've had, by the way), perhaps I should say that this was not unusual for this doctor as far as I know, he told me beforehand what he was going to do and that it was one of his usual techniques, it was fully documented in my medical records, and I personally had no problem with it. I was just curious about the whys and wherefores.
I would REALLY like more responses.
