BCP & OvulationFrom: Tracy (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 31 Mar 1999 20:52:39 -0600 (CST)
Hysterectomy in 1997, 1 ovary intact. Saw doctor for possible hormonal problems(hair loss, lack of libido, vaginal dryness, acne, moodiness, breast soreness) about 3 months ago, and without any testing put me on Ortho Tri-Cyclen. I have been taking them eveyday now for 3 months, no changes, not even to my normal cycle. I believe I am still ovulating dispite the fact I have been on them for 3 months now because I still experience the 1 day of pain in my left side like clockwork. I have even contemplated taking an ovulation predictor test so I know I am not imagining this. Cycle happens as follows: Pill week 1 - left side pain (about 4-5 days into the pack) Pill week 2 - normal Pill week 3 - breast soreness, moodiness Pill week 4(placebos) - Breast soreness, moodiness Could it be that I am still ovulating? Any ideas why, if I am? How long do I need to be off of the pills to have my hormones tested? Thanks for your help, Tracy
