Re: Vaginal Odor after intercourseFrom: Marna (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 31 Mar 1999 14:15:42 -0800
Mrs. Cochran, if you find out the answer PLEASE let me know. I have asked her a few times, and have been told it could be bacterial vaginoisis, or gardenella. I was tested for every single STI (Sexually Transmitted Infection) out there, and I came up clean, clear as a whistle. Nothing, absolutely nothing. Yet, when I have intercourse with my spouse, I have this horrible fish like odor from about an hour after sex, and this is after I have showered and cleaned really well no less, all day the next day, and part of the following day. I have tried strong soaps, I have tried, douches, I have tried so many different feminine hygiene sprays it's not funny. I even tried wearing a deodorant tampon once. Nothing works. Yes, it's terribly embarrassing. The lowest point in my life, was going out to dinner, sharing a taxi with a group of people, and being the last one in, and having someone on the other end of the car, say, "My God, what is that fish smell, the pollution in this city is just horrible" I thought I was going to die. So if ANYONE out here, knows what this cause is, and how we can neutralize it, it would help not only myself, but so many other women, who DO not have STI's, who have been tested for STI's and have come up negative. Thanks. Marna Gatlin Doula
