Suggest you contact UC Davis Medical Center. Ask for the department of radiology. Any qualified interventional radiologist can perform uterine artery embilization. The procedure itself has been available for decades to help control massive bleeding from cancer, post-operative bleeding etc. The utilization of the procedure for controlling massive bleeding from fibroids is relatively new. The procedure itself is the same. Published results from Dr.Hutchins and his group from Pennsylvannia indicate a 40-80% reduction in fibroid volume, and a satisfactory reduction in flow in up to 90% of patients. Long-term results are yet to be determined.
