Re: Is this legal?From: hanna (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 31 Mar 1999 14:58:51 -0600 (CST)
Please forgive me Barbara, it was me that mentioned the name and you are right that this should not have been done! Is there a way to edit that out? I am truly sorry!!! As far as the CM goes, it was a CM that diagnosed me with the small pelvis. My type of medical care is so that not one physician is seen at all times. During my pregnancy and delivery I saw at least a dozen physicians. Can you see now why it is so important that the patient is aware of all her conditions? As far as the other forum goes, I have learn a lot from that forum, much of which gave me great respect of the physicians there! On a couple of occasions I wish I could have given them the view of the patient in a positive way - much like this case where it would not have mattered if the CM had told me that I had a small pelvis, I would still have done a TOL, maybe just had more control over it and would not blame lack of knowledge on what happened to me! I can not blame the delivering doc since I am sure he was also unaware of the size too. I am truly sorry if you took my post the wrong way, it was meant to show women that they really need to be informed of their health care. This is what I feel so strongly about. I am not anti-hysterectomy, anti-male physician (I have a wonderful male Gyn!) nor am I anti-tubal. I say to each his own but be informed, please!!!! This is the only way to choose what is right for you! Again, I am sorry for mentioning the name and for this I feel like a huge IDIOT!!!!
