pains in sideFrom: Melissa (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 30 Mar 1999 22:27:44 -0600 (CST)
i have a large fibroid that my doctor is sure he wants to remove through hysterectomy. But, I'm not sure I want to let him. Lately, I've been having sharp pains in my right side. At first they were distant pains, but over the past two weeks, they have become very sharp and lasting for quite a few hours at a time. I told the doctor about them when they weren't so extreme. He said they were probably menstral cramps. I've never felt a cramp that hurt this bad or lasted this long. Is it possible that these could be just simple cramps? My doctor has not physically checked me since I told him that I don't want to jump into a hysterectomy. Do I need to insist on having him check me? He never even takes me into an exam room. We always go straight into his office-even though other problems have developed and none have subsided. Is he doing the right thing by only talking to me?
