You will also see that this same site has presented other live events - total knee replacement, hair transplant, vet visits to list just a few. As Roberta stated - OBGYN.net is not airing this event. Hysterectomies are a part of health care and for some women an important and life-saving procedure. I'm sorry you had a bad experience but not everyone shares your view. You don't have to have full-blown cancer to need a hysterectomy and I agree that all other avenues should be explored first - most doctors do exactly that after taking into account all the variables involved in their patient's situation. Generalizing is dangerous, especially when it comes to something as vital as health care. The decision of what treatments are attempted (surgical or otherwise) is strictly between patient and doctor. The insurance companies have already stepped in the middle of these decisions too many times and prevented or delayed necessary treatment. ( but that's a whole 'nother can 'o worms)
