Re: Why the big dral over the hysterectomyFrom: anonymous@obgyn.netThu, 25 Mar 1999 20:59:44 EST
Camille I have to agree with you. I read Lisa "shouting message" with an amazement which quickly turned to anger. As it was for you, my TAH/BSO was a relief after at least thirty years of increasingly painful periods and very heavy bleeding. Two months before my surgery, my blood count fell so low I was given 5 units of blood to build it back up. Of course, the next month brought more heavy bleeding, clots, the whole gamet and the need for three additional units. l5 days later, surgery was performed as an emergency. I was 52 years old and I would not be lying to say that I did not feel this good when I was in my 20's. I now have a life that is not regulated by days in bed and not feeling well enough to do anything. I don't know what experience Lisa had that has caused her feelings, but I am sorry she feels so strongly about something that has literally given thousands of us a new lease on life. I would love to see the surgery too. Diane
