Source of Estratest H.S.From: Pat (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 25 Mar 1999 15:50:49 -0600 (CST)
I am currently taking Estratest as part of my HRT regimen. I am concerned about the source of the esterified estrogens it contains. I have a product pamphlet which indicates this is ". . . derived from natural plant sources." However, when I look more carefully at the pamphlet info, it describes esterified estrogens as a ". . . mixture of the sodium salts . . . that are of the type excreted by pregnant mares." Also, Dr. Christiane Northrup's book, Women's Bodies, Women's Wisdom, describes Estratest as being derived from pregnant mare's urine. I would appreciate a definitive answer to this because of other health concerns I have. Thanks in advance.
