Question about "Clomid Challenge Test"

Hi-

Well, I got my FSH tests back, they were not favorable, my levels were high, above the normal limits. I then proceeded to take the Clomid Challenge Test, and flunked that. My RE is still having me come back monthly for FSH tests, to see if they rise, or stay the same before they will give me a for sure diagnosis as premature ovarian failure. In the meantime, he has referred me off to a true IVF Clinic, as Kaiser doesn't go any further except perform the basic diagnostic testing.

I am going to be 36, this prospect of course really shook both my spouse and I up. I have a call into my RE with questions, but he takes up to 2 weeks to return question calls, as he is a very busy man, so I am asking here, since I am comfortable with this forum and sit on this panel, so I hope you don't mind.

What I don't understand is, how can they tell that my egg quality is poor? They are talking about donor eggs. They said that performing an IVF procedure using my own eggs would be a waste of time, as my eggs might fertilize but since they are most likely so poor it wouldn't be worth the money as I wouldn't carry to term.

So while they are giving us options of donor eggs or adoption, I am just not terribly convinced yet, part of me really wants to make really sure.

I am also to the point, that after trying for 15 years, I don't care how I become a mom, I just want a baby to love.

Thanks for any input.
