The first is lab error, either with the colposcopy biopsy, or with the LEEP biopsy. Another possibility is that the severe dysplasia/CIS was limited in area, and the biopsy either removed it entirely, or the tissue reaction that followed the biopsy resulted in tissue remodeling and improvement of the disease stage. Depending on the interval between the colposcopy and the LEEP, there could have even been resolution of the CIS just from time alone.
