Perplexed over biopsy resultsFrom: clp (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 25 Mar 1999 08:21:43 -0600 (CST)
Last Friday, 3/19, my Dr. performed LEEP for what the colposcopy said was severe dysplaisia. I even saw the colposcopy results myself which stated "carcinoma in situ." Wednesday, I got the results from my Dr., and he said that they had gotten all of the bad cells. He also said that all they found in the entire cone sample was 1 or 2 spots of mild dysplaisia. I was confused, and he even seemed somewhat perplexed, because he is going to call the lab and have them read the colposcopy resuts again! How could this happen? What is the margin for error in the labs? Did I have part of my cervix removed for nothing? Thank you in advance.
