I had a hysterectomy in 1995. I had complications including a major hemmorhage. It took me at over a year to feel better again, then unfortunately, I had to have surgery again to remove my remaining ovary. (due to endo) Give your self lots, of time. Ask for help from family and friends. Take a nap when you need to. A hysterectomy and having cancer are major, major things to deal with. You shouldn't expect yourself to feel like you old self only after three months. Some women might feel better after three months if their hysterectomy was uncomplicated and done vaginally, but a radical hysterectomy is a whole different ball game.

Also remember, if you were not premenopausal before the surgery and you just went through menopause, that will knock you off your feet. You are probably not be sleeping right because of your hormones not being in the right balance yet. When I went through surgical menopause after my last ovary was removed, I sleep horribly, if at all. Sleep makes a huge difference in how you feel and your moods. All of what your going through is normal, considering what you have gone through.

As far as work goes, can you take a little more time off? If not, explain to your boss what has gone on and hopefully they are understanding enough to cut you some slack when you need it.

Be kind to yourself, give yourself lots of time to heal, physically and emotionally. You will feel better, it just takes some time.

Best of luck to you!
