I recently had a lap and cautery of endometriosis. My obgyn has suggested Lupron for 3 months. My older sister was treated with Lupron 7.5 for 3 months re: fibroids. It did nothing to help with the fibroids; she had a hysterectomy a few months later. My question is re: side effects - she experienced and still does, almost 3 years later, hot flashes; also had mood swings, weight gain, and deterioration of her eye sight. I'm wondering what the likelihood is that I will experience the same side effects as my sister did; has there been any research done regarding side effects relative to genetics? If not, what would be your best guess? This is one of the issues that I wish to consider while trying to decide whether to do the Lupron, although I am leaning in that direction - feeling hopeful I guess!!
