abnormal bleeding and painFrom: Ann (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 18 Mar 1999 08:28:57 -0600 (CST)
I started taking birth control pills last year because I was having abnormal bleeding. I was spotting after my period and usually during the middle of my cycle. After starting the BCPs, the abnormal spotting stopped, but I began to have lower left sided pelvic pain. Not severe, but uncomfortable. My questions are 1) can BCPs cause pelvic pain and 2) since the spotting stopped once I started the BCPs can I assume the abnormal bleeding is caused by a hormonal problem and that the pain and the spotting are NOT related (or could they be related although the spotting has stopped)? Thanks alot for any help you can give me. Have a great day! It is a beautiful 75 degrees here!
