Jill,

I was told that it is fairly common not to be able to pick up the heartbeat with a doppler before 12 weeks. Occasionaly they can. It all depends on the positioning of the fetus. If you have already seen the heartbeat, and you have no cramping, bleeding, etc, don't worry. It will probably be for nothing. What did the Dr say when s/he didn't pick up the heartbeat?
