Hi Leah, I read your post and although my situation is somewhat different than yours, I thought I might have an idea that might help. First, I am not a doctor and this is just my opinion. I was curious, you say that you had both ovaries removed, but you are on Ovcon 35 which is a birth control pill. I too have had both my ovaries removed as well as having a hysterectomy because of fibroids and endo. I ended up with ovarian remnant syndrome and I take (at this time) Ortho-novum 1/50. ( I have been on Ovcon 35) I take the pill on a continuous basis, I do not take the inert pills. I take these to prevent ovulation and to avoid cyclical pain I was having related to the endo. Do you take the Ovcon on a continuous basis? Why did your doctor put you on this vs. Premarin or Estrace and a progesterone? The birth control pills have a much higher dose of estrogen than in just estrogen replacement therapy. As for libido, Estratest might be helpful for you. It is a combination of estrogen and testosterone. Testosterone should help elevate libido. Or maybe just a small amount of testosterone on top of the pill you are taking, if that is the only pill that works for you. Check with you doctor. I take paxil for depression. Mine is related to the traumatic experiences I have had with my surgeries and hormonal ups and downs. My estrogen level still is messed up. When I am on these high estrogen birth control pills my estrogen level goes down to post-menopausal levels. So right now my choice is low estrogen levels or endo. I don't understand why these high estrogen birth control pills cause suppression of my own estrogen to post-menopausal levels. Is it possible your depression is related to the birth control pill? I am wondering if you are getting too much estrogen. Anyway that is my two cents worth. Maybe these are things you have already tried, but I thought I might be helpful. I hope that you can find the answer to your questions. Good Luck!
