Adhesions Crowding Organs?

I have a question that hopefully someone out there can answer. I had a hysterectemy about a year ago. Ever since I have had problems with adhesions developing. My physcian says that even though they have went in and removed adhesions found between my intestines and my stomach wall. He beleives that there are adhesions behind my intestines that are crowding my intestines. He says that this crowding is what is causing me not to keep my food down, and severe abdominal pain. He has suggested that they take me back to surgery and make a large incision and lay my intestines out on a side table and clean adhesions out from underneath.

I don't know anyone that has had problems with adhesions like this. Is it actually possible for the adhesions to be so far back that something like this would be needed? I have been told that we want to wait until I can no longer keep any solids down and start having difficulty with fluids staying down as well. Does this sound like a good idea to wait so long?

Thank you for any light you can shed on this.
