I can't answer for certain, but I remember reading long ago a case (non-pregnancy related; it was a man) of a man whose sense of taste had become altered so that everything tasted like garbage, causing him great distress since he ran a restaurant. Turned out it was a zinc deficiency, as zinc has something to do with the way tastebuds function. Is zinc depleted during pregnancy? I've never been pregnant, so I'm not up on the details... Michaela
