Re: Stage IV Endo DiagnosisFrom: Jean (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun, 28 Feb 1999 13:20:54 -0600 (CST)
Hi Linda: I am not a medical professional and so I cannot offer any direct treatment options for you, but I would like to suggest a couple of sites to check out if you haven't already - they are: The Endo Pavillion, here at obgyn.net: http://www.obgyn.net/endo/endo.htm and The Atlanta Reproductive Health Care Centre: http://www.ivf.com/index.html I, too, had been diagnosed with Stage IV endo a couple of years ago, after suffering tremendously for quite awhile with painful periods. I was 41 at the time, had my family, and so I chose hysterectomy (total). My doctor, had I insisted, would have left in one of my ovaries and offered drug therapy as well. I chose not to go with this and have not regretted it for a single moment. In your case, where you are still quite young, I can understand your seeking more info. Hope you have some luck with the above mentioned sites! Keep posting questions here as well - the medical professionals are great - also try the chat room; there is an endo chat for this evening. Regards, Jean
