Re: Second opinion - possibility of Grade 1 adenocarcinomaFrom: anonymous@obgyn.netThu, 25 Feb 1999 22:41:32 EST

Their diagnosis was severe atypia, which they felt could be a cancer, a grade 1 adenocarcinoma -- basically that it was borderline. Is that possible, a borderline cancer? **** The cell changes are not a full blown cancer. The diagnosis is not all black and white. There are borderline cases. Many years ago Dr. Robert Kistner treated this kind of change with Progestins with a good result. Almost 100 per cent of them regressed with this treatment. Anyway, we are going to continue w/the megace for 3 months followed by a D&C. If it's all gone my Dr. is saying I should pursue IVF ASAP before they have to take out my uterus. Is it possible that this condition could have spread out of the uterus already? **** I would not think that it has gone anywhere but on the surface like the frosting on a cake.
