Re: loosing first 3 months featus. and later?From: anonymous@obgyn.netThu, 25 Feb 1999 17:38:47 EST
In a message dated 2/25/99 3:41:42 PM Eastern Standard Time, spectrum3900@hotmail.com writes: << i heard from her that she was pregnant and then she lost it naturally and never told anyone neither her last boyfriend nor her step mom. i was concerned if she is going to have any problem later to have children >> **** I would think positively. If she is a normal (Physically) girl and she is having regular menses the odds are that she should do well with her next pregnancy. Research shows us that the pregnancy loss percentage may be as high as 50 per cent (These are usually very early losses with the presenting signs of 'late menstrual period that is a little bit heaver that usual.') The average 'miscarriage' (SPONTANEOUS ABORTION) occurs at about the 10th week of the gestation. Many of these losses are due to the fact that there is a chromosomal abnormality in the fetus. In other words, there is nothing that the miscarrying woman can do about this. Such things as intercourse, tennis, lifting do not cause these 'miscarriages.' This is for educational purposes only. It is not intended to replace consultation and examination by your physician or other health care provider.
