The problem of depression, in my opinion, post hysterectomy is related to your own reality "as to what the uterus represents" and the old 'tapes' that you bring to the operating room. Some women feel strongly that the womb is the center of their femininity and that without it they are 'less than complete.' The physical and emotional stress of major surgery can trigger a depression. On outside thought; rule out physical illness before you buy into a 'depression.' Because the emotional aspects of depression can lead to chemical changes in the brain which can lead to a very severe depressive state, I would recommend that you see someone in the medical field who is experienced with your disease. (Depression.) Do not take this problem lightly even though the outlook of depression is good. YOU WILL GET BETTER -- but -- DON'T TAKE THIS LIGHTLY> This is for educational purposes only.
